from shoes until they start walking.

that of adult feet. Baby shoes may
cause baby feet to get warm and cause
discomfort.

to buy pre-walking shoes and booties
for their newborns. Toddlers look
cute in shoes. Many people will want
to bronze their babies' first shoes,
creating the most nostalgic of keepsakes.
Try a pair of patent leather shoes
for girls, as the bronzing will create
glossy mirror-like finish. Ankle high
booties for boys are a common favorite
for bronzing. We think sandals are

Shoes are also protection from sunburn,
cold weather, scratches and bumps.
Just make sure that when your baby
has the opportunity to go barefoot,
let them. And don't keep shoes on
for too long at a time.

of closures, from velcro to laces.
Since footwear is not needed before
a baby begins walking, it simply does
not matter whether these early shoes
use laces or velcro. Once infants
begin walking, we suggest shoes with
velcro closures so baby will not trip
over untied laces. If lace-up shoes
are preferred, laces should be double
knotted or secured with lace locks.
You may want to stray away from shoes
that restrict your baby's ankle movements,
such as leather high tops or boots.
Make sure that the shoes are flexible
enough that your baby's feet can still
wiggle in them. Mothers and pediatricians
recommend soft soled shoes or booties.
In general, shoes for babies are fun
and fashion than necessity. Baby shoes
become necessary when your baby starts
walking and likes to go out. At that
stage you have to take care for your
baby's feet.
